What you get to do every day

- Be a factor in the development of monthly financial reporting and other business data

- Accommodate a number of aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)

- Dispense unique alternatives and advise to reduce costs and promote financial performance of a company

- Contribute in annual budgeting process

- Provide assistance to internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits

- Offer insight to ensuring adequate controls and procedures

- Collaborate on the monitoring and maintaining internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements

- Scan defining results at the corporate and division levels

- Could have to guide non-financial staff members on complicated financial subjects in special assignments

- Probe and query a vast amounts of data

- Unify and interpret budgets and income statement forecasts


- Less than one year of experience is acceptable




- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight




- Command of computer research




- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel




- Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)




- Strong communication and social skills




- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment




- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field




- Accomplished computer skills are a must. This includes word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
