IT Generalist

Our Edmonton-based client is seeking an experienced IT Generalist to provide comprehensive technical support across infrastructure, networking, end-user systems, and Microsoft 365 environments. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day IT operations across multiple locations, requiring strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Note: This role will be based in the client's primary office but will require travel to various building locations within the surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues
- Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Manage user accounts, permissions, onboarding, and offboarding activities
- Deploy, configure, image, and maintain end-user devices
- Support network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, routers, and internet connectivity
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless networking issues within Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti environments
- Assist with network monitoring, system maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades
- Respond to and resolve support tickets via phone, email, and onsite support
- Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, and knowledge base articles
- Support multiple office locations and provide onsite technical assistance as needed
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve technical issues and improve IT services
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in an IT Generalist, Systems Support, Technical Support, or similar role
- Strong background supporting both end-user environments and core IT infrastructure
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows workstations, hardware, and peripherals
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networking
- Experience supporting Cisco Meraki and/or Ubiquiti environments is considered a strong asset
- Experience with device deployment, imaging, and lifecycle management
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and user administration
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a dynamic environment
- Experience supporting multi-site environments is an asset
- CCNA or equivalent networking experience is considered an asset, not a requirement
