Our client is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support financial operations in the energy and natural resources sector. This long-term contract role focuses on project financing, reconciliations, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record transactions related to project financing and amortization
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and post prepaids and adjusting journal entries
• Support financial reporting and maintain backup documentation
• Use ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Identify process improvements and ensure compliance with standards

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting (or pursuing certification)
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheets
• ERP proficiency (Oracle preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Strong communication skills
• Detail-oriented in high-volume environments
• Energy/natural resources experience is an asset
• Proactive and improvement-focused mindset
