Our client is seeking for a skilled Human Resources (HR) Manager to join their team on contract basis in Edmonton, Alberta. This role supports the development and delivery of employee wellness initiatives while working closely with a collaborative HR team. The ideal candidate is a strong HR professional with experience in occupational health and safety, proven leadership abilities, and a solid background in HR administration, capable of driving initiatives and supporting organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead employee wellness programs and engagement initiatives.
• Supervise and support HR team members.
• Manage return-to-work programs and ensure OHS compliance.
• Communicate updates through newsletters and engagement activities.
• Advise senior leadership on HR and union-related matters.
• Support and execute wellness projects.
• Improve HR processes and workflows.
• Assist with board documentation and reporting.
• Use HR systems (ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian) for payroll and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with WCB and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• HR management experience, ideally in unionized healthcare settings.
• Strong leadership with executive-level decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
• Proficient in HR systems (ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, ATS).
• Skilled in HR administration, benefits, and wellness programs.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Collaborative team player with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience managing high-volume, multi-site HR operations.
