Our southeast Richmond client is looking to hire a (Senior) Accountant for their well established business. The (Senior) Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for facility operations, including daily transaction processing, billing, customer receipts, deposits, accounts receivable and collections, vendor and customer account reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting. Supports month-end and year-end processes, audit preparation, payroll processing, tax filings, inventory and fixed asset tracking, capital project accounting, insurance reporting, and annual physical inventory counts. Also manages cash controls, credit reviews, customer invoice support, and troubleshooting of accounting system issues.

The ideal Accountant has a minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a similar role, with industry-related experience preferred and are a CPA or are close to being qualified; alternatively; you possess at least 10 years of relevant experience. Proficiency with accounting systems such as SAGE 50 and strong Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with POS systems is an asset. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, payroll, tax remittances, budgeting, inventory, and reconciliations. Must have excellent attention to detail, communication, customer service, conflict resolution, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
