Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst to join a renewable energy organization in Calgary, Alberta on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with high-volume financial data, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining accurate records across multiple entities. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a detail-focused finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank activity in QuickBooks by reviewing transactions, verifying cash movements, and ensuring accurate recording across multiple accounts and entities.
• Prepare and post intercompany journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals, prepaid expenses, debt entries, and general ledger adjustments.
• Maintain and update working papers to support recurring monthly accounting activities.
• Review general ledger activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues before reporting deadlines.
• Maintain organized financial records across multiple legal entities.
• Use Excel reporting tools, including trend analysis and profit and loss reviews, to identify variances and support financial analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide accurate financial information and support efficient accounting processes.
