We are looking for a Finance Manager to provide on-site financial leadership for a mining operation. This role works closely with operational leaders to guide reporting, planning, cost performance, and financial governance while supporting informed business decisions. The successful candidate will bring strong controllership expertise, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to turn financial data into practical recommendations for the site.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the full finance and accounting function at the mine site and act as a trusted advisor to site leadership on financial matters.

• Manage the monthly and quarterly close cycle, including ledger oversight, account reconciliations, reporting packages, and analysis of financial results.

• Maintain accurate and timely financial records in line with corporate standards, regulatory obligations, and accepted accounting practices.

• Work with operations and planning teams to develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long-range plans, and life-of-mine financial outlooks.

• Review operating results, key performance indicators, spending patterns, and cost drivers to identify risks and recommend performance improvements.

• Support decisions related to operating and capital expenditures by assessing business cases, financial impacts, and potential risks.

• Strengthen internal controls and financial governance by identifying gaps, improving processes, and reinforcing compliance across the site.

• Collaborate with corporate finance, tax, audit, and IT teams on technical accounting issues, audit requirements, payroll oversight, and finance system enhancements.

• Build, mentor, and lead a capable finance team while encouraging productive collaboration between finance and operational departments.

• Champion a workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, responsible mining, and operational effectiveness.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an accounting designation is considered an asset.
• 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, ideally within mining or another resource-based industry.
• Demonstrated success leading a finance function in a mine site, plant, or similarly complex operating environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Solid technical accounting skills with the ability to interpret standards and apply them in a practical operating context.
• Experience with financial and accounting systems; exposure to enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA is an asset.
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to influence decisions across departments.
• Willingness and ability to relocate to or spend substantial time at the mine site in Emo, Ontario.
