ERP Selection Consultant

Location: GTA / Hybrid/ Primarily Remote

Engagement Type: Contract, Part-time hours.

Duration: 3 months (Part-Time hours)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an ERP Selection Consultant to support a critical systems modernization initiative. This consultant will guide the evaluation and selection of a new ERP platform to support finance, accounting, and operational needs, while helping leadership build requirements, assess vendors, and develop a clear business case for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the ERP selection process from discovery through vendor evaluation and recommendation
• Gather and document business requirements across finance, accounting, and operational functions
• Assess current-state processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and bring key capabilities in-house
• Help define future-state requirements for areas such as AP, AR, financial reporting, fund accounting, and related operational processes
• Support the development of a business case, selection criteria, and vendor evaluation framework
• Participate in vendor demos, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and help compare solution options
• Provide guidance on ERP fit, functionality, implementation considerations, and overall readiness for a cloud-based environment
• Assist with RFP development, reference checks, and commercial evaluation as needed
• Partner with finance and leadership teams to prepare recommendations for executive review and approval
• Advise on phased approach options, including an initial finance/accounting core rollout followed by later-stage implementation support if required

Qualifications

• Proven significant experience leading or advising on ERP selection, assessment, or transformation initiatives
• Strong techno-functional background with end-to-end ERP knowledge across business requirements, vendor evaluation, and implementation planning
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into structured requirements and practical system recommendations
• Strong project leadership, business case development, and vendor management skills
• Comfortable working with both finance and technology stakeholders
• Experience evaluating mid-market or enterprise ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage, or similar solutions
• Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills
• Implementation or post-selection PM experience is an asset, though the initial focus is on assessment and selection
