We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to join a long-term contract opportunity in Toronto, Ontario. This position is suited to an experienced architecture specialist who can connect business priorities with practical technical direction across enterprise and solution architecture. The successful candidate will bring strong cloud knowledge, particularly in AWS and Azure, and will be comfortable guiding stakeholders in complex corporate environments, ideally within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities:

• Translate business objectives into scalable solution designs and clear technical requirements that support enterprise goals.

• Define architecture approaches across applications, cloud platforms, infrastructure, and integration patterns with a focus on reliability and long-term value.

• Partner with business leaders, delivery teams, and technical specialists to align solution decisions with strategic priorities.

• Contribute to architecture governance by shaping standards, reviewing designs, and helping maintain roadmaps across multiple technology domains.

• Lead solution planning for cloud-based initiatives using AWS and Azure, ensuring designs reflect security, performance, and operational needs.

• Provide architectural guidance independently across projects, driving progress from concept through implementation with minimal oversight.

• Communicate recommendations and trade-offs effectively to senior stakeholders through presentations, workshops, and design discussions.

• Support large-scale enterprise environments by creating practical, solution-focused architecture outcomes that fit complex organizational needs.

• 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or a comparable senior technical leadership role.
• Proven ability to work across both enterprise-level and solution-level architecture initiatives.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud technologies, with particular strength in AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience converting business needs into technical direction in a techno-functional capacity.
• Solid understanding of modern infrastructure, network architecture, platform engineering, and architecture design patterns.
• Background contributing to architecture standards, governance practices, and strategic roadmaps.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior business and technical audiences.
• Experience in large corporate environments, ideally within the financial domain, with a track record of delivering work independently.
