We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to provide leadership across the finance function for a growing manufacturing organization in Vaughan, Ontario. This role will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership while maintaining strong oversight of reporting, cost management, and day-to-day financial operations. The successful candidate will help strengthen financial discipline, support operational decision-making, and build an effective finance team in a dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the full financial reporting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end results.

• Oversee manufacturing cost analysis by managing standard costing, reviewing variances, and monitoring profitability across products and operations.

• Work closely with plant and operations leaders to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.

• Maintain a robust control environment by supporting compliance obligations, audit readiness, and sound accounting practices.

• Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital, and manage relationships with banking partners and other financial stakeholders.

• Lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities to ensure smooth daily finance operations.

• Coach, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team while setting clear performance expectations.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance the use of systems and tools across the department.

• Provide financial insight on capital spending initiatives and operational investments, including analysis and tracking.

• Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors during annual reviews and other reporting requirements.

• CPA designation is required.
• At least 7 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership within a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and plant-focused financial analysis.
• Strong experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and preparing accurate financial reports.
• Familiarity with enterprise accounting or ERP platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
• Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial controls, and audit requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop staff, and partner effectively with operational leaders.
