We are partnering with an ambitious, fast-growing real estate developer looking to bring on a Director of Financial Reporting to play a critical leadership role in scaling the finance function. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a dynamic development platform, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects and contributing to the organization’s continued growth and success.

As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will own the financial reporting function, provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, and help drive best-in-class processes across a multi-entity real estate structure.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the preparation and delivery of consolidated financial statements across a growing portfolio of developments, partnerships, and entities
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and insight-driven outputs
• Drive technical accounting excellence, including revenue recognition, asset classification, and transaction structuring
• Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, advisors, and stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process
• Oversee statutory reporting and regulatory compliance, maintaining the highest standards of governance
• Manage complex consolidations involving joint ventures, partnerships, and special purpose entities, including intercompany eliminations
• Partner with executive leadership on acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic transactions, providing expert accounting guidance
• Establish and refine accounting policies related to real estate development, including capitalization, cost allocation, and project accounting
• Champion process improvements, systems enhancements, and internal controls to support scalability and efficiency
• Mentor and develop a high-performing financial reporting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

CPA designation (required) with a strong foundation in financial reporting and technical accounting

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility over financial reporting functions

Deep knowledge of IFRS, with proven experience in financial statement preparation and complex consolidations; exposure to real estate development or project-based environments is a strong asset

Demonstrated success managing external audits and partnering effectively with auditors, advisors, and cross-functional stakeholders

Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, with experience leveraging reporting and consolidation tools to drive efficiency and accuracy

Strong technical acumen with the ability to interpret, apply, and clearly communicate complex accounting issues to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
