Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. This position is for a talented Cost Accountant looking for a company experiencing substantial growth.

Your responsibilities

- Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

- Perform internal cost audits

- Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results

- Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided

- Put into action a standard costing methodology for domestic plants

- Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory

- Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Generate reports comparing production costs to standard costs and analyze manufacturing costs

- Plan projects and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

- Estimate new and proposed product costs

- Abide by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

- Generate costs and cost saving ideas based on analysis

- Assist in general ledger preparation and audits

- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
- Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

- Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills

- 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

- Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
