Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant to join our client! This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. This position is for a talented Cost Accountant looking for a company experiencing substantial growth.




Major responsibilities




- Execute standardized costing methodology




- Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization




- Make estimates of new and proposed product costs




- Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements




- Log a detailed record of collected data




- Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost




- Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories




- Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste




- Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances




- Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs




- Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services




- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

- Understanding of organizational accounting concepts

- Prior experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

- Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills

- Be detailed, flexible, and organized

- Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

- 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
