We are looking for an experienced Corporate/Commercial Lawyer to join our dynamic team in North York, Ontario. In this role, you will provide expert legal guidance on complex transactions, including mergers, asset acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work independently while building strong client relationships and contributing to high-level strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients on corporate and commercial matters.

• Structure, negotiate, and finalize various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, private equity deals, and corporate reorganizations.

• Draft and review contracts and other legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage multiple client files independently, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.

• Collaborate with clients to develop tailored legal solutions that address their business needs.

• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and transactional decisions.

• Utilize case management and document management software to streamline operations and maintain accurate records.

• Participate in negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes for clients.

• Mentor entry level staff and contribute to the overall growth of the legal team.

• Identify opportunities for partnership and business development within the firm.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate/commercial law.
• Advanced skills in legal analysis, negotiation, and communication.
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
• Proficiency in legal software tools such as case management systems and document management platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple files simultaneously.
• Experience drafting contracts and legal documentation with exceptional attention to detail.
• Active book of business preferred but not mandatory.
• Capability to work autonomously while maintaining a collaborative approach within the team.
