Our construction client is seeking a controller to join their team on a 3-month interim basis. This is a full-time, on-site role (5 days/week) located in the east end offering a collaborative team environment, excellent work-life balance, and a modern office setting.

The Controller’s duties will include:

• Oversee accounting operations for multiple entities.
• Manage monthly and year-end close activities, including Bank reconciliations, General ledger review and KPI reporting, WIP adjustments, Cash flow forecasting (13-week forecast), Project cost tracking
• Prepare and file monthly statutory remittances, including HST, Payroll source deductions, EHT, WSIB and RRSP Contributions
• Process weekly payroll remittances and employee expense reimbursements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including collections oversight.
• Coordinate monthly progress billings and supplier payments.
• Prepare borrowing base and financial reporting packages for lenders.
• Support annual external audit processes.
• Maintain rent rolls and annual common area fee calculations.
• Ensure accurate setup of new projects/jobs within Sage.
• Assist with process improvement and evaluation of accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of payroll, indirect taxes, cash flow management, and audit coordination.
• CPA an asset
• Sage ERP experience is highly preferred.
• Bilingual in English and French an asset
• Construction, real estate, property management, or project-based accounting experience is considered a strong asset.
