THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to join their team on a 15-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements
• Manage the annual external audit and serve as the primary liaison with auditors
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities
• Provide oversight of accounts payable, payroll, and daily accounting operations
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting across multiple legal entities
• Strengthen accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support key business decisions
• Mentor and support members of the finance team

ABOUT YOU:

You are a CPA-designated finance professional with extensive experience leading accounting and financial reporting functions within a public company environment. You have a strong understanding of IFRS reporting requirements and are comfortable navigating complex financial matters while maintaining attention to detail. Highly organized and adaptable, you enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to support operational accounting activities when needed. Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively are essential for success in this role.

• CPA designation
• 5+ years of Controller experience within a publicly traded organization
• Strong IFRS financial reporting expertise
• Proven experience managing external audits and regulatory reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and financial analysis
• Experience overseeing multi-entity accounting environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on accounting responsibilities
• Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing processes and controls
