We are looking for a Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for a growing software organization in Vancouver, British Columbia. This position will strengthen financial reporting, oversight, and compliance across a complex international entity structure while supporting the company’s long-term strategic goals. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with practical leadership, helping build efficient processes, reliable controls, and a high-performing finance operation in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, ensuring financial results are accurate, timely, and well supported by reconciliations and documentation.
• Direct core accounting activities, including general ledger oversight, journal entry review, and the application of accounting policies for complex matters such as equity programs, leases, and capitalized development costs.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing operations with a focus on improving cash flow, monitoring performance indicators, and maintaining transaction accuracy.
• Manage payroll administration across multiple jurisdictions in collaboration with internal stakeholders to support compliant and timely employee payments.
• Maintain day-to-day treasury activities by monitoring cash positions, supporting forecasting efforts, and coordinating banking relationships and operational funding needs.
• Supervise tax compliance requirements across international jurisdictions, working with external advisors where needed to meet filing obligations and reduce risk exposure.
• Administer multi-entity accounting and intercompany processes, including consolidations, entity-level reporting, and documentation that supports a controlled global structure.
• Develop and maintain a strong internal control framework that improves audit readiness, supports regulatory compliance, and scales with business growth.
• Identify opportunities to streamline finance operations through automation, reporting improvements, and efficient use of technology to support a lean, high-output team.

• Detail-oriented experience in a senior accounting or corporate controller role within a scaling organization, ideally in the software or technology sector.

• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting in a multi-entity environment.

• Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, treasury, and tax compliance responsibilities.

• Demonstrated ability to build and strengthen internal controls, close processes, and audit-ready accounting practices.

• Familiarity with accounting software systems and financial reporting tools, with the ability to improve workflows through automation and process enhancements.

• Working knowledge of budgeting support, ad hoc financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with finance and business leaders.

• Experience managing international operations or multinational compliance requirements is considered a strong asset.

• An accounting designation and excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are preferred.
