THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to provide hands-on financial leadership during a period of growth and integration. This contract opportunity will focus on strengthening accounting processes, supporting acquisition-related activities, and enhancing financial reporting and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve inventory accounting processes, documentation, and workflow mapping
• Review acquisition accounting and purchase price allocations, identifying areas requiring further analysis or adjustment
• Oversee inventory and capital asset tracking, including componentization and movement of parts between inventory and fixed assets
• Prepare month-end and year-end financial reporting packages under ASPE
• Coordinate audit preparation, working papers, and financial statement disclosures
• Partner with the Senior Accountant to support integration and amalgamation initiatives
• Enhance cash flow analysis, consolidation processes, and management reporting
• Assess current financial systems and recommend process or system improvements

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation with proven experience at the Controller level
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and preparation of external-use financial statements
• Experience preparing MD& A, financial statement notes, and supporting lender or banking requirements
• Demonstrated success leading organizations through year-end audits
• Expertise in inventory, fixed asset, and capital expenditure accounting
• Experience supporting acquisitions, valuations, and business integration activities
• Proficiency with Sage 50 and QuickBooks, with exposure to system reviews or implementations considered an asset
• IFRS, controls experience, or aviation/aerospace industry experience regarded as beneficial
