THE ROLE:

Our client in the real estate sector is seeking a hands‑on Controller for a 3+ month contract to support day‑to‑day accounting operations and monthly reporting during a period of transition and system implementation. In this role, you will lead and support a team of three accounting professionals while remaining actively involved in core accounting activities, including month‑end close, reconciliations, journal entry review, and financial reporting. You will oversee high‑volume transactions, manage intercompany and consolidated reporting (ASPE), and support governance, audit‑ready working papers, and banking coordination. Exposure to an ERP transition (QuickBooks to Yardi) and a new HRIS (UKG) rollout will be a key component of this engagement.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation required with 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Knowledge of ASPE and consolidated financial statements (including intercompany)
• Experience managing or overseeing accounting teams
• Comfortable working with high‑volume transactions and tight timelines
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables)
• Strong organizational, communication, and continuous improvement mindset
• Experience with Yardi, QuickBooks Desktop, and/or ERP implementations is an asset
• Exposure to HRIS systems (UKG) and payroll entries is beneficial
• Background in real estate or property management is a definite plus
