Interim Controller / Senior Finance Leader (6 month contract)

Location: Brantford, ON

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 day remote)

Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)

Overview:

Our client, a large and established organization, is seeking an interim finance leader to support its accounting function. This role will oversee financial reporting across business units and is ideal for a hands-on senior accounting professional with strong large-company experience in US GAAP, SOX, and multi-entity environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting for multiple business units.
• Lead month-end close, including financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet review
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and working capital reporting
• Support audit, compliance, and internal control requirements, including SOX
• Handle foreign exchange accounting across Canadian, U.S., and Mexico-based operations
• Lead, mentor, and support a small accounting team through a period of change
• Partner with leadership on reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• CPA strongly preferred; equivalent designation or relevant depth of experience will be considered.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting or controllership experience
• Strong background in large corporate environments
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and multi-entity reporting
• Experience with FX and cross-border accounting preferred
• Prior team leadership experience required
• ERP experience such as Oracle, Epicor, or similar is an asset
