Our client, a global manufacturing leader, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of its Canadian entities. Reporting to the North America Regional Controller, this position will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining compliance, strengthening controls, and providing financial leadership across a complex manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on CPA who thrives in a multi-entity setting and enjoys partnering with both operational and executive stakeholders to drive financial performance and continuous improvement. This position is 100% onsite at the Canadian Headquarters in the Niagara Region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes for multiple Canadian entities.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP and IFRS, statutory reporting requirements, corporate tax obligations, and internal policies.
• Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, variance analysis, and balance sheet oversight.
• Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, risk management processes, and financial governance frameworks.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, working capital, and foreign exchange hedging activities.
• Partner closely with a global Shared Services team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
• Provide financial analysis and business insights to support operational performance and strategic decision-making.
• Drive process improvements and support ERP optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience.
• Strong manufacturing experience with exposure to multi-entity operations, inventory, costing, and financial controls.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, audit, tax compliance, treasury, and internal controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of cash management, forecasting, and foreign exchange hedging.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of operating in a hands-on, fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
