Our client, a well-established and growing real estate organization, is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial real estate environment and has a strong understanding of property accounting principles, financial reporting, and tenant-related accounting activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial properties while working closely with property management and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of commercial properties
• Complete month-end and year-end close processes
• Review and analyze operating expenses, recoveries, and tenant billings
• Prepare CAM reconciliations and property operating reports
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Coordinate with property managers to address accounting inquiries and financial reporting needs
• Support external audits and provide required schedules and documentation
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and applicable accounting standards

• 5+ years of property accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate
• Hands-on experience with Yardi software
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Experience preparing CAM recoveries, reconciliations, and tenant-related accounting transactions
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
