Our client is looking for a detail-focused Buyer to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. This role supports the procurement of materials, equipment, and services needed to keep construction and manufacturing projects running efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while building strong supplier relationships and balancing cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Support procurement planning and recommend purchasing improvements to leadership.
• Source materials, consumables, and services based on pricing, availability, quality, and value.
• Compare supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare and track purchase orders and procurement records.
• Coordinate orders with project schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and suppliers while resolving supply issues.
• Monitor supply chain risks and proactively address potential disruptions.
• Assist with logistics, inventory, shipping, material handling, and returns.
• Support continuous improvement in purchasing efficiency and supply chain performance.
• Manage inventory levels to meet project needs while controlling costs.

• 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, vendor coordination, pricing, and procurement processes.
• Experience with logistics, inventory, shipping, and material handling.
• Strong supplier negotiation, quotation, and vendor evaluation skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Great Plains (GPAC) and IBM AS/400, plus Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and procurement records management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
