Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Vaughan, Ontario. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently manage financial records, perform reconciliations, and contribute to maintaining accurate accounts. Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date general ledger records Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, bills, receipts, and journal entries Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable Monitor cash flow and outstanding receivables Construction & Project Support
- Track project costs, job cost reports, and expense allocations Assist with progress billings, holdbacks, and lien holdback tracking Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and reporting
Payroll & Government Compliance
- Process payroll and contractor payments Prepare and file HST/GST returns Support WSIB, EHT, and other statutory remittances
- Assist with year‑end preparation and liaise with external accountants
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries for management
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting as required
- Support internal audits and financial reviews
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Experience in construction, consulting, engineering, or detail oriented services is strongly preferred
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping Strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices
- Experience with job costing and project‑based accounting High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, reconciliations, reporting) Familiarity with payroll systems and government reporting portals
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Discretion and confidentiality with financial information
- Proactive, dependable, and solution‑oriented mindset
