We are supporting a leading Canadian law firm in their search for a Banking & Finance Associate.

The firm's Banking & Finance practice is one of the most respected in the country - acting for Canada's Big Five banks, major US and European financial institutions, and a broad range of non-traditional lenders and borrowers on transactions spanning senior secured lending, subordinated debt, cross-border syndications, venture and mezzanine financing, and asset-based lending. The Vancouver office is a growth platform and this hire is part of that build-out.

About The Role:

My client is seeking a mid-senior level Banking & Finance Associate to join the Vancouver team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, security documentation, and ancillary financing documents for lender and borrower-side mandates.
• Advise on senior secured, subordinated, second-lien, and syndicated lending transactions.
• Support cross-border financing deals involving US and international financial institutions.
• Act on venture, mezzanine, and technology-focused financing transactions.
• Conduct and manage due diligence on financing transactions, including title, PPSA, and corporate searches.
• Work alongside partners on complex and high-value matters, with increasing file ownership as your experience grows.

Candidate Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking and finance or corporate lending from a reputable Canadian or international firm.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia (or eligible for transfer).
• Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents and related financing documentation.
• Familiarity with PPSA registration, corporate searches, and due diligence processes in BC or other Canadian jurisdictions.
• Comfort working on lender and borrower side.
• Strong drafting skills and commercial judgment.
