Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. This is a hands-on role overseeing Accounts Payable while supporting revenue, reconciliations, reporting, and general accounting activities. The successful candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a small organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Accounts Payable function and support the AP team.
• Manage monthly revenue and funding activities, including journal entries and allocations.
• Perform weekly cash reconciliations.
• Support month-end, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Provide ad hoc accounting support to the Controller.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues and manage priorities.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. You are comfortable taking ownership, working independently, and supporting a small team.

WHAT'S ON OFFER:

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of AP, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and basic formulas.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Adaptable and comfortable in a changing, small-organization environment.
• Accounting designation is preferred.
