Responsibilities
You will collaborate on the entire cycle of financial reporting and calculating compensation for the firm's professionals, while playing a key role in supporting the Director of Finance and Administration in managing daily accounting operations and preparing payroll.
In particular:
Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, the invoicing process, and month-end entries;
Processing and recording financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Approving invoices.
Monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable, and issuing reminders as necessary;
Responding to requests for information from lawyers and notaries, maintaining good relationships with lawyers and notaries, and resolving issues;
Performing regular reconciliations of bank accounts and the general ledger.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
Prepare various reports and contribute to the preparation of financial statements for internal use.
Participate in the preparation of the annual budget by collecting data from various departments.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes.
Produce ad hoc analyses for management.
Actively collaborate in IT developments, optimization, and process automation.
Improve financial reports using Excel, Power BI, and AI tools.
Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
Support the audit process by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
All other related tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA designation (an asset)
3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience
Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, with advanced expertise in Excel.
Familiarity with Juris Évolution software and the legal field (an asset).
Ability to supervise or mentor colleagues
Proficiency in professional French and functional English
Understanding of Canadian accounting standards (CPAC) and tax principles is essential.
