Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities:
• Monitor customer accounts, issue invoices, and keep receivable records current and accurate.
• Reconcile account balances by reviewing transactions, investigating discrepancies, and resolving outstanding items.
• Apply incoming payments promptly and correctly to ensure cash receipts are reflected in the accounting records.
• Follow up with customers on overdue balances using clear and consistent collection practices.
• Prepare and manage progress billings in alignment with contract terms, project milestones, and internal documentation.
• Work closely with internal departments to address billing questions, clarify payment status, and support account resolution.
• Use Microsoft Excel to analyze receivables data, track trends, and produce routine aging and collection reports.
• Assist with process updates and operational changes affecting accounts receivable activities when required.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or a closely related accounting position.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve payment variances accurately.
• Hands-on experience with cash application, invoicing, and managing customer payment activity.
• Strong background in commercial collections with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and day-to-day account management.
• Experience handling progress billing in a business environment with multiple customer accounts.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through when managing competing priorities.
