Our client, an established industry leader based in Burnaby are seeking to add a dynamic Accounts Receivable Specialist to their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounts receivable function, ensuring customer invoices, payments, collections, and account balances are managed accurately.
• Prepare and issue invoices promptly while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Review outstanding customer balances and communicate with clients to secure timely payment.
• Research and resolve payment issues, billing concerns, and customer account inquiries.
• Record and apply incoming payments received through various methods, including cheques, EFTs, wire transfers, and credit cards.
• Maintain accurate customer account information within the accounting system.
• Perform account reconciliations and support the balancing of accounts receivable records with the general ledger.
• Generate reports on outstanding receivables and provide updates on collection progress.
• Partner with internal departments to address customer account discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities, financial audits, and related reporting requirements.
• Recommend and support improvements to accounts receivable processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
• Two to five years of experience in accounts receivable, credit and collections, or a related accounting role.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable procedures and collection best practices.
• Experience using ERP or accounting software, such as Syspro, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent systems.
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Capable of managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience managing business-to-business (B2B) customer accounts and collections.
• Familiarity with credit administration and customer account management.
• Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment.
• Progress toward, or completion of, CPA preparatory courses is considered an asset.
