We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day transactional accounting activities for a busy team in Brampton, Ontario. This short-term contract opportunity is well suited to someone who is comfortable managing high-volume transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to efficient month-end processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely billing, accurate payment application, and effective collections support.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and issue customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing information.
• Apply incoming payments (cheques, EFTs, credit cards) and maintain up-to-date customer accounts.
• Manage collections by following up on outstanding balances and maintaining strong communication with customers.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Support month-end Accounts Receivable activities, including reporting and aging analysis.
• Assist with Accounts Payable tasks as needed, including data entry and invoice processing.
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible.
• Use strong attention to detail and clear communication to support internal teams and ensure accuracy across transactions.

• Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, or forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of core finance principles and the ability to interpret numerical data accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic retail environment.
• Experience supporting structured business processes, including hiring-related coordination, is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with assertion markup language or related data standards is an asset.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial reporting tools, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
