Acounts Payable Specialist - Hybrid
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Woodbridge, Ontario. This is a contract position with the potential to become permanent within the retail industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations while gaining valuable experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes, proficiency in accounting software, and exceptional organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
• Process and verify invoices accurately while ensuring proper account coding and compliance with company policies.
• Manage payment processing, including checks and electronic transactions, in a timely manner.
• Maintain and update vendor records, addressing discrepancies or inquiries promptly.
• Utilize ERP systems, such as Dynamics 365, to manage accounts payable functions efficiently.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and support month-end closing activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication regarding payment approvals.
• Monitor expenses through systems like Concur to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with budgets.
• Generate reports and provide insights to support financial decision-making processes.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company standards.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable workflows and enhance efficiency.
• Proven experience in accounts payable roles, preferably within the retail industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms, such as Dynamics 365, and expense management tools like Concur.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, including account coding and payment processing.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies with vendors and invoices.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
