Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team in Calgary, Alberta on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on accounts payable experience who can maintain accuracy while managing changing invoice volumes. The successful candidate will support invoice processing, reconciliations, and backlog reduction activities within a healthcare-related environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify invoice details before submitting for internal approval.
• Ensure returned invoices are complete, accurate, and ready for final processing.
• Process routine accounts payable transactions with strong attention to detail.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Enter invoice data accurately into the accounting system and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with clearing outstanding invoice backlogs and aged items.
• Prioritize workload based on approval timelines and changing business needs.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and maintain efficient AP processes. 

Requirements:

• Previous accounts payable experience, including invoice processing and account reconciliation.
• Ability to manage changing workloads while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong ownership and accountability with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent data entry skills with the ability to identify errors or missing information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting support.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct is considered an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
