Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy healthcare organization in Oshawa, Ontario through a Long-term Contract assignment. This position is ideal for someone who can step into a full-cycle accounts payable environment with confidence, work accurately in a high-volume setting, and investigate payment issues with a practical, solution-focused approach.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the complete accounts payable cycle, from receiving invoices to preparing payments and maintaining accurate records.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure three-way matching is completed correctly before payment is released.
• Process supplier invoices in SAP and Ariba, applying the correct coding and resolving discrepancies as they arise.
• Perform account reconciliations and review outstanding items to identify missing information, delayed approvals, or payment exceptions.
• Investigate unpaid invoices, determine the root cause of the issue, and escalate concerns when timely resolution is needed.
• Support cheque and payment processing activities while ensuring transactions meet internal controls and documentation standards.
• Enter and update financial data with a high degree of accuracy, maintaining organized records for audit and reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to answer accounts payable inquiries and keep payment activity moving efficiently
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, including hands-on exposure to full-cycle AP processing.
• Practical experience using SAP, including SAP S/4HANA, as well as Ariba or SAP Ariba in an invoice processing environment.
• Strong understanding of three-way matching involving purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
• Proven ability to complete reconciliations and analyze payment discrepancies with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel at a basic to intermediate level for tracking, reviewing, and organizing data.
• Experience with invoice coding, data entry, and payment processing in a high-volume setting.
• Comfortable working independently, raising issues appropriately, and communicating clearly with supervisors and stakeholders.
