Accounting Operations Specialist (Part-Time)

The organization manages a diverse portfolio of investments and operations, including commercial real estate and clean technology ventures. Reporting to: Director of Finance

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger records.
• Process wire transfers and ACH transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare GST and PST filings.
• Assist with operating cost reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, annual financial statements, and tax returns.
• Conduct financial analysis and assist with ad hoc reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of efficiencies.
• Provide assistance with various accounting, finance, and administrative tasks as required by management and the broader finance team.

Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly with Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience working with Yardi Breeze.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
