We are looking for a Accounting Manager (Contract) to provide hands-on leadership for a small accounting team in Toronto, Ontario. This opportunity is well suited to someone who can balance day-to-day accounting operations with strong oversight of closing activities, reconciliations, and core financial processes. The successful candidate will step into an interim assignment, support continuity across key functions, and help maintain accurate, timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a small accounting team, providing day-to-day direction across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting activities.

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure deadlines are met and financial records are complete and accurate.

• Review and complete account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Manage core accounting operations while maintaining strong internal controls and consistent financial procedures.

• Coordinate required organizational returns and support compliance with reporting obligations.

• Provide practical oversight of payroll processing.

• Demonstrated experience in an Accounting Manager role with direct responsibility for daily accounting operations.

• Strong hands-on background in month-end close and account reconciliations.

• Experience supervising or guiding a small accounting team.

• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting processes.

• Familiarity with payroll is considered an asset.

• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a practical approach to problem-solving.
