We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This position is responsible for managing the organization's day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records and providing reliable financial information to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting functions
• Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Complete month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain prepaid expense, accrual, inventory, and fixed asset schedules
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions
• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll while maintaining payroll records- 80 Employees- Non Union- Dayforce
• Coordinate statutory remittances and government filings including HST, WSIB, garnishments, and other required submissions
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to the General Ledger
• Manage cash receipts, bank deposits, petty cash, and cash reconciliations
• Maintain accurate accounting documentation and supporting records
• Assist with management reporting by providing financial analysis and insights
• Maintain personnel files and payroll-related documentation as required
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Participate in special projects and perform additional accounting duties as assigned

• At least 3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting with responsibility for managing day-to-day accounting functions.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, account reconciliation, and financial reporting processes.
• Experience using computerized accounting systems; exposure to Business Central would be considered an asset.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Canadian payroll requirements and standard accounting practices.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements and manage month-end close activities.
• Payroll processing experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
