Accounting Manager – 18 Month Contract

Location: Kitchener / Waterloo (Hybrid: 1 day onsite, 4 days remote)

Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Overview:

A leading technology organization is seeking an Accounting Manager for an 18 month contract. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this hands-on role is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with proven experience in public companies or private equity-backed environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end month-end and quarter-end close processes in alignment with US GAAP
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
• Oversee workpapers as well as requests from PE and auditors, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to staff and senior accountants
• Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring accuracy and rigor in documentation and controls
• Troubleshoot and optimize ERP systems, with a focus on NetSuite
• Collaborate with payroll, tax, FP& A, and operations teams
• Drive process improvements and special accounting projects
• Leverage your background working in technology, high tech, or SaaS companies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience in public, private equity, or audit-focused environments
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated ability to manage month-end closes under tight deadlines
• Experience with ERPs, ideally NetSuite
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and team leadership skills
• Highly organized, independent, and hands-on
