Our client is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a legal organization in Calgary, Alberta on a contract basis. This role supports day-to-day financial operations through bookkeeping, billing, and transaction processing, with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily, monthly, and year-end bookkeeping activities to maintain accurate financial records.

• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses, client invoicing, and trust transactions.

• Prepare and adjust client invoices, including billing corrections, transfers, write-offs, and reversals.

• Review vendor invoices and payment requests for authorization, coding, and tax accuracy.

• Apply incoming payments, process deposits, and maintain accurate cash records.

• Administer trust account deposits, disbursements, and wire transfers.

• Assist with reconciliations, including disbursements and credit card statements.

• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.

• Strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting principles.

• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoice processing, and reconciliations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accurate financial data entry.

• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Bookkeeping diploma preferred; law firm experience is an asset.
