Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. This role will support the full-cycle accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience in NetSuite, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This is a full time permanent position that offers a hybrid working environment in Mississauga.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Maintain and manage fixed asset schedules, including depreciation calculations
• Prepare and file GST/HST/PST returns in a timely and accurate manner
• Handle amortization of prepaid expenses
• Support the implementation and adherence to internal control procedures
• Assist with the preparation of year-end audit working papers and liaise with external auditors
• Contribute to budgeting, including variance analysis
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages for management
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and accounting support as needed

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred or ERP experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting processes
• Experience with Canadian indirect tax filings (GST/HST/PST)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
