Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a VP/CFO. The VP/CFO must have an ability to work well with the President and other senior executives. As well, the VP/CFO would require strong analytical, strategic-planning, operational and communication skills. A combination of industry and public accounting experience is preferred. Key responsibilities




- Manage hiring and training for accounting and finance staff




- Provide the finance and accounting functions with strategic management




- Knowledge of financial consolidations.




- Manage the relationship with independent auditors




- Identify and control business risks and insurance requirements




- Handle investor and investment institution relationships




- Maintain the integrity of a company's financial information and suggest improvements




- Supervise vendor relationships




- Supervise all personnel in the finance department




- Oversee implementations and upgrades for financial systems




- Ensure staff compliance with provincial and federal laws and company's policies




- Analyze if cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations




- Supervise accounting policies, procedures and internal controls


- Public accounting experience a plus




- MBA or CPA a must




- Inventory experience is a huge asset.




- Consolidations knowledge is a must.




- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required




- 10+ years' experience in accounting or finance




- 8+ years' management experience




- Strong communication and presentation skills




- Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure




- Proven organizational and leadership skills required
