Our client, a reputable public company in the manufacturing sector is looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst to join them on a long-term engagement. This Senior Financial Analyst will be situated in Vancouver, British Columbia. The ideal candidate for this Senior Financial Analyst consultant position can perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments. You will be part of a collaborative team and be responsible for the following:




- Be able to analyze financial results, distill and synthesize key issues, and communicate updates to senior management all to drive existing management reporting




- Cultivate business performance through the use and execution of financial analysis




- Timely closure of quarter-end and month-end under IFRS rules.




- Offer assistance for ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests as necessary




- Manage advantageous relationships with Finance/Accounting leadership of integral business partners




- Make business, operational, and financial processes to be shared, understood, and repeated by relevant teams




- Work closely with Functional leads - provide management reporting, accounting and compliance guidance, and ensure alignment of operational initiatives




- Evaluate financial results, summarize key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate critical updates all in the course of preparing monthly and quarterly reporting to senior leadership


To be considered for this engagement, you are a designated or close-to-designated Accounting professional (CPA or Equivalent) with at least 2+ years at the Senior Accountant level and have financial analysis experience. You are a strong communicator with a customer-centric mindset.




- Previous experience working with Microsoft Excel




- General familiarity with Intangible Asset and Fixed Assets




- Earlier work involving management reporting




- Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting




- Ad Hoc Reporting experience is highly preferred




- Practical knowledge of reconciliations




- SOX experience




- Good understanding of MS Dynamics 365 and other consolidation tool




- Background working with variance analysis




- Documentation experience preferred




- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing




- Strong proficiency in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended




- Able to think critically and operate effectively with management




- Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement




- Advanced credentials such as a Master of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred




- Able to work across teams and gain consensus of a group of individuals




- Demonstrated skills in process reengineering and optimization
