This long-term contract / contract employment opportunity is based in the Vancouver, British Columbia area.

What you get to do every day
- Constantly improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- Create analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with US GAAP
- Support various initiatives spanning multiple departments
- Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
- Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Prepare reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts




The requirements for the role are:
- Bachelors in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- SOX experience highly preferred
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and Month-end Close
- Demonstrated knowledge of management reporting
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
- Current and relevant ERP system experience
- Proven ability to work and communication well with manager-level associates 3+ years of overall general accounting experience
- Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
