In anticipation of future needs Robert Half is currently seeking Senior Payroll Specialists throughout the Calgary region.




As a Senior Payroll Specialist your day to day responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:




•    Process multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations

•    Manage all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, calculation of wages and deductions, and reconciliation of payroll reports

•    Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and taxes in a timely and professional manner

•    Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and other payroll-related changes

•    Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance

•    Assist in the implementation and optimization of Ceridian Dayforce software, including testing, troubleshooting, and training of end users

•    Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses using Excel to support payroll audits, budgeting, and forecasting activities

•    Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the payroll department

•    Ad-hoc duties as requested


A successful Senior Payroll Specialist will possess the following:




•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

•    5+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-state environment

•    Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce software is required

•    Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including vlookups, pivot tables, and data analysis functions

•    Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

•    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues effectively

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization

•    Available to start immediately
