Description
Responsibilities
• Manage the approval, validation, and release program for raw materials / finished products from subcontractors, including the inspection and evaluation upon receipt, verification and validation of certificates of analysis, communication with suppliers or subcontractors if necessary, and releases based on the priorities of the involved departments (production, Customer Service, inventory, etc.).
• Manage program for the handling of extensions/expirations/destructions of Raw Materials, including assessment and validation in collaboration with the R&D department, drafting necessary reports, follow-up, and communication with involved departments (production, planning, and inventory).
• Manage supplier and subcontractor complaints, including communication with the quality representative of suppliers/subcontractors, complaint reports, follow-up on corrective action implementation, and monthly reports tracking the effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of existing systems such as extension, release, and evaluation systems for raw materials. Develop KPIs for measuring the performance and efficiency of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Participate in the Raw Material Evaluation Program in close collaboration with the HACCP Coordinator, including updating the raw materials used, managing ingredient risks, managing supplier risks, and providing appropriate literature to validate the risks associated with the raw materials used.
• Supervise and guide the quality team responsible for raw materials.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the implementation of HACCP hygiene and sanitation standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits (CFIA, clients, Kosher, certifications, etc.) and provide support to the HACCP coordinator within their area of expertise.
• Participate in employee training sessions and develop specific training within area of expertise.
• Actively participate in the development and implementation of new Quality Systems related to new manufacturing processes in the plant. Write Quality policies or procedures as needed.

Requirements
- Essential - DEC / BAC in Food Science and Technology / Microbiology
- Essential - Minimum 2 years of experience in the food industry
Knowledge and abilities
- Essential - Knowledge of quality management systems
- Essential - Knowledge of standards: HACCP, GMP, GFSI, SQF, CFIA, Kosher and Allergens
