    Nortera is a manufacturing facility that processes and packages frozen vegetables. We harvest peas and corn locally as well as package different frozen vegetables grown in different regions. We are currently hiring a Full Time 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer to join our team! 

    Job Summary:

    The Power Engineer will assist in all department tasks/activities to ensure equipment and systems are maintained and operated according to procedures and best practices as well as assisting with all maintenance planning, record keeping, budgeting requirements and ensuring all regulatory requirements are current. This position will ensure operation and maintenance of the refrigeration side of the plant Moreover, the Power Engineer will assist with any other tasks as instructed by the Chief Power Engineer while adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures.

    Reporting Duties:

    Schedule:
    - Non-Harvest Season: Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts (Days, occasional Afternoons or Weekends required) 

    Your daily role
    - Working under the direction of the Chief Power Engineer/lead hand, the Power Engineer ensures that the pressure and power plants are operated in a safe proper manner;
    - Under the direction of the Maintenance/Engineering Manager and/or the Chief Power Engineer/lead hand, the Power Engineer is responsible for the proper completion of all regular duties that are assigned on a day to day basis. When regular duties are completed, the Power Engineer is to look for other work that needs to be done. If direction is needed, the Power Engineer is to ask the immediate Supervisor for additional duties;
    - Responsible for all housekeeping within the Engineering Department;
    - Ensures that all required documentation and paper work is completed in a timely and accurate manner;
    - Responsible for the proper operation, care and maintenance of all equipment assigned by the Chief Power Engineer/lead hand;
    - Follows all plant rules and policies;
    - Knows and follows the Working Alone Procedures;
    - Expected to carry a communication radio at all times. These radios are to be shared. If a radio is damaged or broken it is to be reported immediately;
    - Under the direction of the Chief Power Engineer/lead hand, the Power Engineer is expected to make repairs to all Plant Plumbing and Piping to the applicable ASME code;
    - Completes properly all PMC work orders;
    - Identifies opportunities within the plant that will streamline operations and/or increase plant efficiencies;
    - Responsible for the above and all other duties as assigned by management.

    Physical Requirements:
    - Stand/Walk for 8 or 12 hours;
    - Squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and use of ladders and stairs;
    - Occasional lifting up to 50lbs/23kg;
    - Occasional carrying up to 50lbs/23kg;
    - Pushing up to 100lbs/45kg.

    Competencies and Qualifications:
    - Must possess a minimum valid 4th class Power Engineer ticket;
    - Must be able to communicate effectively in English;
    - Work in a safe and efficient manner;
    - Be available to work on weekdays, weekends, and on holidays;
    - Be available for 8 - 12hr shifts;
    - Follow personal hygiene rules;
    - Understanding of regulations regarding safety, quality, sanitary design, and GMPs in a food plant;
    - Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility;
    - Strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.
