Position: Legal Assistant (Billing)
Location: Downtown Montreal
Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 per annum
Benefits: Group insurance benefits, 3 weeks vacation, wellness reimbursement, EAP, RRSP 4%
Work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 remote (35h week)
Role Overview:
Our client, a top law firm in Canada, is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Business Law (Information Technology) practice group in their Montreal office. The successful candidate will provide support to four lawyers, including three associates.
Responsibilities:
- Billing (including e-billing)
- Document formatting and proofreading
- Transcription of dictations
- Telephone communications with clients
- Contact management in Interaction
- Correspondence tracking
- Opening files
- Document and presentation updates
- Maintenance of various lists
- Filing and archiving of documents
- Agenda planning and deadline management
- Adherence to internal procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (DEP) or college diploma (DEC) in office administration, with a legal specialization
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in legal secretarial work in Quebec
- Proficiency in Word (advanced functions) and good knowledge of MS Office suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French to communicate with clients from different provinces
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently
- Initiative, responsibility, and resourcefulness
