If you are looking for work as a Financial Analyst, Robert Half is seeking skilled candidates. There is an opening for a Financial Analyst, who will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. Your duties would include conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, you're a good fit for this position. You will be expected to advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is based in the Winnipeg, Manitoba, area and is a long-term contract / contract employment opportunity.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Work closely with business partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

- Uncover the influencing factors that are driving performance and trends

- Monitor monthly and quarterly performance by comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources effectively

- Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

- Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

- Authenticate routine Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

- Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- This position would suit a flexible individual that has experience managing large amounts of information and meeting expectations

- Compile and supervise forecasting reports

- Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended

- Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools experience a plus

- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience a plus)

- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

- Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively

- Journal entries experience

- Proficiency in account analysis

- Expertise in general ledger
