Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term contract / temporary role of Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities

- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Good understanding of financial auditing

- Financial statement preparation experience

- Quality experience with Prepare Budgets

- Earlier work involving expense reports

- Practical knowledge of journal entries

- Proven knowledge of accruals

- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

- General familiarity with General Journal

- Well-founded grasp of general ledger

- Full Cycle Accounting experience

- Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel

- Working Papers experience highly desired

- Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)

- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Current and relevant ERP system experience

- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
