Our client is looking for a dedicated Project Procurement Specialist to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. The role supports procurement activities across major capital and operational projects. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded procurement professional with experience in capital projects, construction, EPC contracts, and vendor management, able to balance cost, schedule, quality, and risk.

Responsibilities:

• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Lead sourcing, bidding, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Lead the procurement and selection of EPC contractors, including direct experience hiring EPC companies.
• Prepare and manage commercial agreements for supply, construction services, and equipment.
• Advise project teams on contract and compensation strategies.
• Assess commercial and contractual risks and support procurement execution with cross-functional teams.
• Manage critical and long-lead procurements, supplier performance, change orders, and contract closeout.
• Provide procurement updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to project leadership.

• 12–15+ years of procurement experience supporting capital projects.
• Direct experience hiring EPC companies and procuring construction services.
• Strong commercial construction and EPC contract negotiation experience.
• Expertise in supplier negotiations, bid evaluations, contract awards, and contract administration.
• Knowledge of procurement governance and ERP systems.
• Strong vendor management, pricing analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.
