  • National Sales Manager Job Description

    Job purpose:
    The National Sales Manager will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, creating sales plans with buy-in from senior leadership, and actively participate in sales activities as needed. This role requires an individual who is willing to do what it takes and more to ensure success. This role will require you to travel.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Create and implement effective direct sales strategies and lead nationwide direct sales personnel (salesforce team) toward achievement of corporate sales objectives.
    2. Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization.
    3. Provide leadership through communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.
    4. Provide sales management, budget control, compensation programs and incentive planning.
    5. Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales Team.
    6. Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews.
    7. Proactively identify changes in delivery systems, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
    8. Manage to meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
    9. Partner with the Executives in the development of key customer relationship management.
    10. Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.
    11. Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies.
    12. Motive and guide sales team to achieve revenue targets.
    13. Maintain sales management and reporting tools to achieve business objectives.
    14. Develop creative sales technique and tactics to meet business goals.


    Education & Experience:
    1. A minimum of 20 Years of Sales experience in Retail combine with at least 5 years in a Senior Management position directing sales forces.
    2. Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a high performance sales team and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team.
    3. Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.
    4. Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
    5. Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members.
    6. Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills.
    7. Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
    8. Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management.
    9. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
    10. Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
